In an effort to understand how students use and feel about the extensive academic support structure that exists at Rutgers University, Professor Robert Parelius, in cooperation with the Office of Institutional Research and Decision Support, has been surveying and interviewing undergraduates throughout the University. A report was created for all three campuses. This series is updated on an ongoing basis.
A self-administered questionnaire designed to obtain data on student employment and academic achievement and integration was sent to a random sample of Rutgers undergraduates between the months of November 1995 and March 1996. This survey was designed in conjunction with a graduate research methods course in the Department of Sociology, taught by Professor Steven Hansell. This survey is part of The Undergraduate Experience.
This survey was conducted to better understand the reasons behind student drop-out and attrition rates at Rutgers University. It aimed to gather data on students' experiences and challenges throughout their academic journey.
During the early part of the spring 1996 semester, the Office of Institutional Research and Decision Support administered a questionnaire to a random sample of first- and second-year Rutgers undergraduates administered a questionnaire to a random sample of first- and second-year Rutgers undergraduates. This questionnaire was designed to elicit the awareness of and interest in the Rutgers Study Abroad Program among lower division students.
The Faculty Computer Use and Accessibility Survey was administered by the Office of Institutional Research and Decision Support to all Rutgers' faculty during late fall 1992 to determine the extent of computer usage, the types of computer hardware and software used, the location at which faculty use computers, the computing services they access, and the required use of computers in the courses they teach. This survey was updated for 2002, and renamed the Rutgers University Computing Services (RUCS) survey. The sample has been extended to the entire student body and Rutgers' staff.
The Office of Institutional Research and Decision Support was asked by the Committee on Faculty Workload to assist the work of the committee in obtaining information about faculty work activities at Rutgers University. One aspect of this effort was the administration of a survey in spring 1994 to randomly selected faculty that measured the type and amount of work that faculty do.
As part of Rutgers University's compliance with the State of New Jersey Employer Trip Reduction Program, the Office of Institutional Research and Decision Support produced and administered a survey of University employees.
